The Doctrines of Grace: Perseverance of the Saints Part 1

Jesus Christ is the author and perfecter of our faith; and thus, if Christ saves us, we cannot lose that salvation. This doctrine teaches that God perseveres us in our faith so that we are unable to fall away. If someone renounces the faith, they show that they were never truly regenerated and their faith was not genuine.

The Gospel declares that Christ -- God in the flesh -- has lived a perfect life, died in the place of sinners, is resurrected, and offers eternal life through repentance and faith.
